The Simpsons are going to have 3 hip-hop stars, among other celebrities, for a 1-hour special, as Snoop, RZA, and Common will all be in Springfield to attend a party. Also invited is Taraji P. Henson and Keegen-Michael Key. The rappers will play themselves, while Taraji and Key will play Praline and Jazzy James, respectively.
This episode, cleverly titled The Great Phatsby, is an homage to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. It will revolve around Mr. Burns and his friendship with a rap mogul named Jay G, voiced by Jim Beanz, producer of the music for Taraji’s Empire. Beanz will also write original hip-hop songs for this episode.
This is an hour long episode which will air sometime in January.
